Although it was rechristened Ho Chi Minh City after the North's victory in the war, to much of the world, the former Southern Vietnamese capital will always be Saigon. In recent years, Vietnam has enjoyed an international resurgence and the city formerly known as Saigon has emerged as its premiere tourist destination.
